Article I . NAME
1.01 Name. The name of the organization shall be WiredMind of the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Article II . PURPOSE/PREAMBLE
2.01 Purpose/Preamble. The purpose of the organization shall be to provide the students at UMKC with a professional, student-driven New Media news gathering/producing venue. Students will be able to train in jobs they will encounter in the professional New Media journalism setting. The organization will also produce content that forms the Web site www.wiredmind.org
Article III . MEMBERSHIP
3.01 Membership. Membership in WiredMind shall be open to all duly enrolled students at UMKC. Membership and activities are open to all currently enrolled students regardless of race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, or Vietnam era veteran's status.
Article IV . MEETINGS
4.01 Meetings . Meetings will be held on an as-needed basis.
Article V . COMMITTEES
5.01 Committees. Committees may be created to organize/support events or projects.
Article VI . OFFICERS
6.01 Officers. Officers shall consist of: Manager, Executive Producer, and Business Manager, and shall be elected or hired for a term of one academic year.
Article VII . ADVISOR
7.01 Advisor . [ Required. ] The advisor for this organization shall be decided upon by the executive officers of the organization. A qualified faculty, staff, or community member must be selected by the membership as an advisor.
Article VIII . FINANCES
8.01 Finances . The books of account shall be kept up to date and open to the inspection of the University auditor. The Business Manager shall handle all finances.
Article IX . AMENDMENTS/CONSTITUTIONAL REVISIONS
9.01 Amendments . It is further understood that if this organization desires at any time in the future to change in any way the provisions of this charter, that before such action is taken, the organization will submit for approval to the Student Government Association and the Student Life Office every detail of the desired changes to be made.
Article X . BY-LAWS
10.01 By -laws. [ By-laws should specify more details, such as specific duties of the officers, actual meetings, actual fees, and how the by-laws are enacted .] See Attached.
